MOYCO: The Mowbray Youth Congress set-up in the wake of UDF central structures instruction that area committees could not be an organisation in their own right. The Obs Area Committee then split up into some people going into women's organisation, the setting-up of MOYCO and one other structure, that escapes me at present. MOYCO was launched in 1987 and the first Executive consisted of: Andrew Brown (chair), Patti Silbert (profile building???), Sean Field (education officer), Claire Keeton (media) and there was a treasurer, who's name I can't remember. Some of the members were Chris Barrett, Amanda Tiltman, Dave Sheldon, Heather...oh the surname escapes me now...others please chip-in here...(The fragmented memories of Sean Field closing off).

Chris (aka Fred) Barratt was treasurer for a year in the period after the launch. Also on the executive was Harold Harvey, and Heather Collins. We produced the "Moyco News" newsletter delivered to houses in Obs/Mowbray and featuring some fine art by Jonathan Shapiro (better known as...), another Moyco member.
